Eliza's Poem

A new life, like the sunrise
begins with joy as the child is born.
A beautiful girl child - Eliza Kate.
She brings joy and the promise of new beginnings.
A story yet to be written before it can be told.

Like the dancing sparkle of raindrops
on fresh young leaves
she dances into our life bringing, a freshness
our maturity has forgotten.
Her eyes sparkle,
the rosebud lips purse, with unspoken words
from thoughts of wisdom.
Ancient teachings reflect,
within the depth of eyes bright with magic,
promising a future of possibility, beyond
current imagination.

The years pass and her body grows,
from baby to toddler, to child,.
The sparkle in her eyes
intensifies with a burgeoning promise
of an excitement felt on a planetary scale;
of things known only within the subconscious mind.
The mystery surrounds her in a mist of fantasy
as she cuddles to her breast
- a baby reindeer,
given as a toy within the magic of Christmas
and wrapped within the protective layers of "cuddle".
A blanket which has the smell, feel and soul of Eliza,
the baby, the toddler, the child
with all the promise of the woman
She will become.

The joy of wonderment can not be told,
of this child as she swam with the fishes
and other creaures of the sea
on Agincourt Reef in Paradise.
The sea sparkled
as gold flew in mists from the silvery sparkle of the sea
telling of the glory remembered, from times past
before man walked upon this planet.

Freedom is mine, sang the melody
from her body as she dived and swam and frolicked
on the most perfect of days
that nature could send to those sitting
beyond the sight of land
within the barrier of coral.
This special child shows that freedom given
can NOT be taken away
